I contacted the dealership, and they’ve provided me a free rental car. They let me know that I would need to come in and pick out a different car. The car I had was a later year model with very low mileage, but the cars they showed me were older with a lot more miles on them.
Does anyone have any advice on this? I’m not looking to get “something for nothing”, but I want a car that I like - not just to pick something out to get this over with. Different people at the dealership are telling me some different things - one says I’m going to end up with a “better” car ($4K more than the other), another is trying to put me in something that is around the same price as the other (but older and with more miles) and another says “I’ve got them over a barrel”. Should I just pick out a car I like and “make” them give it to me with the same payments?

We don’t use rental car company insurance; rely on our own instead. When we returned our rental car in Victoria BC (we are from US) there were two small scratches on the back bumper. Rental guy said “barely there, we’ll just rub them out.” That was October. Today we got a bill for $740 and request for our insurance carrier info. Asked for bacup; received emailed photos - all that’s
visible in 6 photos is a couple small scratches. Their shop REPLACED the bumper. Don’t want to run this through our insurance since it will undoubtedly make our rates go up. AND don’t want to be ripped off. Any recourse? Anyone had this situation and resolved it? Thanks.
