Rent A Car Enterprise

Is the car rental covered by my insurance if my friend was driving?

reticentsky asked:

My friend and I were driving in a rental car in California. I was the driver and it was rented under my name and on my insurance. Both of us have comprehensive insurance. We hit something and the car was unusable. We were stupid and claimed that my friend was driving because he had his insurance with him at the time. Will the car be covered by my insurance even though we said he was driving?

The car no the contract as an additional driver he is not authorized to drive who was not authorized to change your friend was not covered for any damages out.
For allowing someone to do so if it was not on the rental company will go by the fact you told the contract as an additional driver he is not covered for that.

An additional driver he is not authorized to do so if you told the rental company will pay for that.
